Carbon Wheel Specialists
The carbon wheel team who bring you hand built wheels from Wales
JOE EMMS
FOUNDER, WEEKEND WARRIOR AND EXPERIENCED TRIATHLETE
Joe founded CES Sport back in 2016 when he saw the need for quality handbuilt wheels at an affordable price.
“I’ve always been into my bikes. When I wasn’t riding them, I was taking them apart. I stripped down and rebuilt my first bike when other kids were playing with rubik’s cubes. Servicing, building and maintaining my bike is something I still love to this day”
As a teenager Joe competed in X-Country MTB races in Thetford Forest. He also raced in some Down Hill events too, but in 2009 discovered a love for triathlon. He has been a dedicated triathlete ever since.
Competing means improving and so it wasn’t long before Joe was upgrading and re-tuning components.
When he began looking at hand built carbon wheelsets the prices were daunting. Realising that many other cyclists balance passion for their sport with full time jobs and family commitments, Joe decided to produce affordable hand built wheels. CES sport was born.
“I’m incredibly proud as to how our welsh brand has grown over the last few years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.
CES Sport am byth”
SION THOMPSON
QUALIFIED BIKE MECHANIC AND WHEEL BUILDING SPECIALIST
Sion is a fully qualified Cytech Level 3 cycle technician. Like many of us, he is nuts about all things bikes, especially when it involves off roading down mud tracks. Having landed his first job in a local bike shop at just 14 years old he set about learning the basics of stripping and rebuilding bikes. Sion has a knack for tuning and fettling mechanical parts, but his real passion is for wheels.
Since joining CES SPORT in 2019, Sion has continued to craft and tune our hand built wheels.
CHRIS DAVEY
QUALIFIED BIKE MECHANIC AND WHEEL BUILDING SPECIALIST
Chris is an experienced mechanic with over 22 years’ experience in the industry.
At the age 16 he began competitive riding in local and national mountain bike and cyclocross events. Competitive riding off road demands the highest level of reliability. Throughout his racing career Chris built and maintained his own bikes as well as holding down a full-time role with his local bike shop.
Handbuilding wheels is still Chris’s favourite thing to do which is why he wanted to get involved with CES Sport and their carbon wheel team.
