MEET THE TEAM

JOE EMMS

COMPANY DIRECTOR

Hi, I’m Joe and I founded CES Sport back in 2016.

I’ve always been into my bikes, having stripped down and rebuilt my first bike back in my early teens. As a teenager I used to compete in X-Country MTB races over in Thetford Forest, even tried my hand at DH, but wasn’t the best at that!

It wasn’t until 2009 that I first discovered my love for triathlon, and since then have been enthralled with the sport. This led me to start looking at upgrading my existing bike, and when wheels came up on the list, I couldn’t believe the prices from some of the leading brands such as ZIPP, HED, Mavic etc. I knew that if I couldn’t afford these, I wouldn’t be on my own, so I looked into what it would take to design and put into production my own set. CES Sport was born!

I’m incredibly proud as to how our welsh brand has grown over the last few years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.

SION THOMPSON

WHEEL SPECIALIST

Hey! I’m Sion, I am a Cytech level 3 cycle technician and I have been bike mad for as long as I can remember! My first job was in my local bike shop when I was 14, building bikes and learning everything I could. I am a huge car enthusiast so I also enjoy working on cars as much as I do bikes, but the majority of my time has been working as a fully qualified bicycle mechanic with many years’ experience. Through my time in the cycle industry I found I had a huge passion for building wheels and so I have been with the CES Sport team since September 2019 and never looked back!

I’m incredibly proud as to how our welsh brand has grown over the last few years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.

CHRIS DAVEY

WHEEL SPECIALIST

Hi I’m Chris, I am a bicycle mechanic with over 22 years’ experience in the trade.

It all started whilst I was still studying in school. At the age 16 I started competing in local and national cross-Country mountain bike and cyclo cross events. For me to be able to compete on a weekly basis in these events I had to carry out maintenance on my bikes. This led me to taking a job in my local Bicycle shop as the shop Mechanic where my love for bike maintenance and wheel building really kicked in.

Years later and as I got older my racing days finished and I also had a slight career change. I moved on to be come an industrial Service engineer supporting customers all over the UK and the North Sea oil Rigs.

My love for bike maintenance and wheel building continued through this time and to this day which brought me to team up with CES Sport in June 2020.
